Direct charter flights between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) could be launched in the near future, according to TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel.

As a result of the work carried out with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan [Ali Asadov – ed.] and the relevant ministries, an important stage has been reached in launching charter flights between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. I believe that, together with the cooperation agreements we will sign, we will see the opening of regular charter flights in the very near future,” he noted.

He emphasized that the new air connection would serve as more than just a transportation link. He described it as a bridge that could boost tourism, trade, education, and people-to-people ties between Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus.

Üstel also expressed confidence that relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC will continue strengthening in the coming years, supported by growing cooperation across multiple sectors.
